Jamie
Practice Manager, Registered Veterinary Technician, Certified Veterinary Business Leader
Growing up in Buffalo, New York, Jamie has been fascinated by the world of medicine ever since she was a little girl. Even back then, she knew she would one day work in the medical field. When she realized that she could combine her scientific and medical passions with her lifelong love of animals, the choice was obvious! Jamie decided to dive headfirst into veterinary medicine, and she hasn’t regretted a single moment since.
Jamie graduated from Medaille College in 1998 with her associate’s degree in veterinary technology. Shortly thereafter she relocated to North Carolina where she started her first job as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Six months later, Jamie passed the North Carolina state board exams to become a Registered Veterinary Technician.
After working her way up the ranks to serve in a number of management positions—including time as an Office Manager, Technician Supervisor, and Hospital Manager—Jamie was thrilled to join the Fullwood Animal Hospital family in May of 2018 as the Practice Manager. She particularly likes working with numbers and spreadsheets, and she’s also fond of problem-solving and implementing various techniques to help the clinic run as smoothly as possible. Jamie is also passionate about working with a variety of personalities and helping others grow in their careers; she believes wholeheartedly that a great team learns from one another, helps one another, and succeeds together!
In her time away from the office, Jamie likes completing DIY projects and spending quality time with her family, friends, and pets. She has two wonderful daughters, Briana and Brooklyn, and shares her life with two dogs, five cats, and two White’s tree frogs.

Kristen
Lead Surgical Technician
Born in Pennsylvania and raised in Chicago, Kristen’s father was her biggest influence growing up. He taught her how to take care of herself, respect nature, to stay calm in emergencies, and the quiet wisdom of the outdoors. Those early lessons guided her and led to countless rescued animals finding their way into the home.
After moving from Chicago to North Carolina, Kristen found her first job working with animals at a pet store chain. She soon transitioned into grooming, where she discovered how rewarding it was to improve a pet’s comfort and confidence in a single visit.
Her curiosity and growing skill led her next to a veterinary hospital, which gave her the chance to learn, observe, and to step into a technician role. That’s where she found her true home— in the surgical suite. The precision, intensity, challenge, and responsibility of surgical work sparked a passion in her that never faded.
Kristen’s connection to the medical side of animal care deepened through a miracle rescue. Felix was one of four Maine Coon mixed kittens Kristen rescued from a garbage bag near Lake Norman. When kidney failure and severe GI disease developed later in life, Kristen was dedicated to helping him live comfortably. Every moment she spent caring for Felix strengthened her commitment to veterinary medicine and shaped how she approaches each patient. For Kristen, Felix wasn’t just a pet. He was her soul cat, her teacher, her companion, and the reason she understands what families feel when they trust her with their own pets.
Today, Kristen brings experience—and a lifetime of compassion—to Fullwood Animal Hospital. She loves surgery for its complexity, dentistry for its visible transformations, and client relationships for the sense of family they build.
At home, Kristen shares life with her boyfriend and his three daughters, fully embracing the role as the outdoorsy, adventurous step-mom. Her free time is filled with hiking, camping, hunting, fishing, cooking, baking, and dreaming of one day living on her own self-sustaining farmstead. And every year, she heads to upstate New York for a salmon fishing trip that has become one of her most treasured traditions.

Jennifer
Registered Veterinary Technician
Jennifer is a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) at Fullwood Animal Hospital. She was born in Decatur, Georgia but has been a resident of the Charlotte area since she was about two years old. Jennifer graduated from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke with a major in Business Management and a minor in Media Arts. Initially aspiring to be a film editor, her career path shifted after several years of working at the humane society, inspiring her to return to school. She graduated from Gaston College in 2021 and became a registered veterinary technician the following year.
Jennifer’s passion for veterinary medicine was fueled by her experience with her childhood dog, Lexie, who developed cancer. Caring for Lexie during her illness left a lasting impact on Jennifer. After Lexie’s passing, she began volunteering at the humane society to stay connected with animals. Her commitment grew, leading to a full-time role in the kennels and eventually in the spay/neuter clinic. It was through these experiences that Jennifer discovered her true calling, finding immense joy and fulfillment in her work with animals and the variety of cases she encountered daily.
Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys a variety of hobbies including reading, watching movies, attending plays, crocheting, assembling Legos, and going for walks. Although she currently does not have any pets, she hopes to adopt a dog in the future. Jennifer’s dedication to animal care and her diverse interests make her a valued member of the Fullwood Animal Hospital team.

Emily
Customer Service Representative
Emily began her career in childhood education teaching pre-k but found it did not bring her as much joy as taking care of the classroom pet. So, she moved to teaching at Camp Thunderbird, where she could be surrounded by nature and animals. When the opportunity arose to move to Charlotte, Emily started to look for job opportunities that would allow her to help animals every day. Fullwood answered that call!
Prior to joining the Fullwood family, Emily served as an eco-science teacher and manager of the animal studies room at Camp Thunderbird. While there, she assisted in nursing an injured box turtle back to health, and the experience confirmed that she had made the right choice career-wise. As a veterinary receptionist, Emily loves talking to pet owners, hearing their stories, and sharing her knowledge.
Outside of the clinic, Emily has two dogs (Tilly and Astro) and two cats (Kibbles and Tigger). Tigger is a very sweet boy who loves to cuddle. Kibbles fits his name and loves to eat. (Sometimes a bit too much!) Astro is a rescue who loves attention, and Tilly is the baby. She’s smart as a whip but also very stubborn. In addition to animals, Emily’s other personal interests include crafting, music, and riding horses.

Susan
Veterinary Assistant
Susan grew up in the mountains of West Virginia with a father who was a naturalist and a state champion free-style bow hunter. He taught Susan so much about wildlife and nature. Over the years, Susan’s family owned countless pets and would often rehabilitate sick or injured wildlife. While she didn’t initially pursue a career working with animals, Susan would eventually return to her roots and find her way to the veterinary field.
Before making a career change, Susan spent 30+ years working as Certified Corporate Paralegal and Paralegal Special with the US Government. When it came time to retire, she instead decided to take a leap of faith and make the switch to vet med. She spent three years training and working her way up the ranks at a clinic in Colorado before relocating to North Carolina to be closer to her daughter.
Susan joined the Fullwood team in January of 2024. Professionally, she loves talking to clients about their pets’ nutritional needs and dental health. She has attended several educational seminars on these topics and feels both are extremely important for the overall long-term health of our patients. Despite how emotional vet med can sometimes be, Susan comes to work every day with a positive attitude.
At home, Susan has two dogs of her own—both retired racing greyhounds. Cali was adopted from Australia and Hayden is from Colorado. She also serves as a cast member of the Carolina Renaissance Festival. Cali and Hayden join her and are cast members as well.

Morgan
Veterinary Assistant
Morgan’s love for animals has been a lifelong journey, starting with a childhood filled with a menagerie of pets, from dogs and cats to birds, reptiles, and frogs. Growing up in Charlotte, she spent her days playing softball, drawing, and exploring the great outdoors, splashing in creeks or hanging out in her treehouse. It’s no surprise that Morgan’s early love for nature and animals led her to pursue a degree in zoology and animal science—and ultimately a career in veterinary medicine.
Morgan began her veterinary journey right after undergrad in 2021, working for 3.5 years at a one-doctor practice in Durham. It was the perfect place to dive headfirst into the veterinary world, giving her hands-on experience and a mentorship she’ll always cherish. While leaving that team was bittersweet, Morgan was excited to continue her work in vet med, finding fulfillment in everything from surgeries to educating and connecting with pet owners.
In February of 2025, Morgan joined the Fullwood Animal Hospital family after moving from Durham to Charlotte to be closer to her family—and she couldn’t be happier to have found a new clinic to call home!
When she’s not at work, Morgan is usually adventuring with her husband, Logan—her high school sweetheart—and their two beloved fur babies: Toast, a fiercely loyal (and hilariously protective) cat, and Beans, their cuddly and curious 2.5-year-old boxer. In addition to hiking and camping, Morgan also loves to flex her creative muscles, whether painting, drawing, or her newest endeavor: embroidery.

Maria
Veterinary Assistant
MJ’s journey into veterinary care combines her lifelong love for animals with a deep interest in medicine. She began her career as a kennel assistant at a 24-hour emergency hospital, where she gained foundational experience and observed skilled veterinary teams in action. Over time, she moved into more medically hands-on roles and eventually worked in emergency care, developing a solid understanding of diagnostics, treatments, and compassionate patient support. She also learned the importance of communication, supporting pet owners through stressful situations and helping them feel informed and reassured.
One moment that stands out in her career involved a kitten that had been hit by a car. Though stable, the kitten suffered significant pelvic fractures. MJ partnered with the doctor to provide surgery, months of physical therapy, and acupuncture, ultimately helping the kitten regain its ability to walk. Seeing the animal thrive reaffirmed her commitment to veterinary medicine and the impact of compassionate care, as well as the value of patience and dedication in every recovery process.
She joined Fullwood Animal Hospital after hearing glowing feedback from colleagues in the area and noticing the clinic on her drives through town. Intrigued by the team’s reputation and welcoming environment, MJ met with the staff and immediately felt at home. She knew this was a place where she could grow professionally while making a meaningful impact on patients and their families.
Today MJ thrives on continuous learning, whether mastering new lab techniques, exploring medical cases, or engaging with colleagues in ongoing education. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring Charlotte’s outdoors, traveling with friends, trying new restaurants, and embracing spontaneous adventures—from beach getaways to day trips in the mountains. Her curiosity, energy, and genuine care for every patient, combined with her dedication to lifelong learning, make MJ a truly valued and trusted part of Fullwood Animal Hospital.

Trent
Veterinary Assistant
For Trent, one patient changed how he sees the impact of veterinary care. Rudolph, a golden retriever known and loved by the entire clinic, had been part of the practice for years. When a tumor began to grow rapidly, his condition became harder to manage. Despite ongoing efforts and the dedication of his family, the tumor progressed, and it seemed like there were no remaining options.
Then something unexpected happened. Another veterinarian stepped in, removed the tumor, and saved his life. It showed him how far veterinary teams are willing to go to help their patients and how much impact that effort can have.
Trent entered veterinary medicine through a training program at a nonprofit spay and neuter clinic, where he spent three years building a strong foundation in patient care. That experience taught him how to work efficiently, stay focused, and support both patients and clients in a fast paced environment.
At Fullwood Animal Hospital, Trent values the opportunity to help clients who may feel limited by financial constraints. He takes pride in doing what he can within those limits, making sure both pets and their owners feel supported. Building trust with patients is just as important to him, especially when helping animals feel more at ease during their visits. His ability to handle and calm cats has even earned him the nickname “cat daddy” among his coworkers, a reflection of the patience and confidence he brings into each interaction.
He also enjoys the hands-on side of veterinary medicine, particularly assisting in surgery and performing dentals, where attention to detail and focus are key. Outside of the clinic, Trent spends much of his time staying active. He enjoys going to the gym and playing basketball, where his competitive nature and discipline push him to keep improving.
At home, Trent shares his space with his mom and brothers, along with two cats, Roo and Snowball. Roo is affectionate and always seeking attention, while Snowball keeps things interesting with his curious and unpredictable personality.

Tisuan
Veterinary Assistant
Tisuan joined Fullwood Animal Hospital as a Veterinary Assistant in September of 2025, but the roots of his passion for animal care stretch back much further. He spent much of his childhood at his grandpa’s home, where animals were always part of the rhythm of daily life. Caring for them felt natural, and it sparked a curiosity that continued to grow. In 2022, while working at Pet Paradise, he discovered the world of veterinary medicine and realized he wanted to be part of it. That moment set him on a path through several hospitals, moving from kennel assistant to veterinary assistant, and gaining valuable experience along the way.
A small kitten named Taz played an important part in shaping his journey. When Taz arrived sick and fragile, needing daily medication and gentle attention, something clicked. Seeing the difference dedicated care can make helped him understand that this work was more than a job. It was a calling.
Today, Tisuan’s favorite parts of the profession are the moments that blend compassion with hands-on medical care. He enjoys supporting families through stressful situations, ensuring their pets feel safe and cared for. He also thrives on the technical side of the job, from blood draws to IV placements, appreciating the skill involved in each procedure.
Originally from Lincolnton, he later moved to Charleston before returning home to finish high school. His family and his grandpa’s influence shaped his work ethic and his love for animals. At home, he shares life with Stomri, a treat-loving, laid-back companion, and Scarfield, a mischievous food thief with a sweet streak.
Outside the hospital, you’ll often find him learning guitar, exploring the outdoors, visiting new places, fishing, or discovering new foods and local spots. His life has been full of memorable moments, including the time he accidentally fell through his mum’s roof, a story he still laughs about today.

Megan
Veterinary Assistant
Megan’s path into veterinary medicine didn’t begin with growing up surrounded by animals—it began with longing. As a child, she wasn’t allowed to have pets, which only made her curiosity and desire to care for animals stronger. That curiosity finally found an outlet in high school when she began working on a dairy farm. It was there, in the early mornings and long days, that everything shifted. The rhythm of farm life, the responsibility, and the quiet connection between people and animals drew her in completely. She didn’t just enjoy it—she felt a sense of belonging she hadn’t experienced before.
One moment, though, changed everything. After high school, a former boss invited Megan on a veterinary mission trip to Honduras. Terrified of flying but unable to pass up the opportunity, she said yes. What followed was two weeks deep in the jungle, working hands-on with animals of all kinds—assisting with vaccines, treating injuries, and even helping deliver calves. It was intense, humbling, and unforgettable. Seeing communities care for their animals with limited resources opened her eyes in a way nothing else had. It gave her a deep sense of purpose and a gratitude she carries with her every day. That experience solidified her path.
Now at Fullwood Animal Hospital, Megan brings that same energy and heart into her role as a Veterinary Assistant. She thrives on connection—the bond formed with each patient and the fulfillment that comes from helping them heal. She’s equally drawn to hands-on care, from assisting with injuries to seeing the real impact of treatments like laser therapy.
Outside of the clinic, Megan’s world centers around her son, Carter, a gamer with an entrepreneurial streak who runs his own car washing business. At home, their cat FiFi—part snuggle expert, part duck-sounding mystery—keeps things entertaining.
Megan continues to push forward, recently enrolling in college and dreaming of one day owning her own food truck. For her, life is about growth, adventure, and never taking a single opportunity to care—for people or animals—for granted.

Dominique Gould
Animal Care Attendant
Dominique Gould has always had a heart for animals—and a drive to speak up for those who can’t speak for themselves. Born and raised in Albemarle, NC, she grew up alongside two older sisters, a close-knit family, and a constant desire to care for every stray she encountered. From a young age, she found herself drawn to the forgotten and overlooked animals at her local Humane Society, where she volunteered during high school. It was there, surrounded by dogs and cats in need of love, that Dominique realized her purpose: to bring comfort, compassion, and joy to animals—no matter their circumstances.
After earning her biology degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Dominique returned home and set out to build a career centered around her passion. She began working at a dog boarding and daycare facility while enrolling in an online veterinary technician program to deepen her skills. When she saw an opportunity to join Fullwood Animal Hospital, she jumped at the chance—officially joining the team in July 2025.
As an Animal Care Attendant, Dominique takes pride in every tail wag, gentle nuzzle, and moment of trust she earns from the pets in her care. She brings energy, empathy, and a strong sense of responsibility to her role. Her favorite part of the job? Being a dependable, loving presence for her “fur-iends”—making each pet feel at home while their families are away.
Outside of work, Dominique loves reading and swimming—two passions that have followed her for years. She used to be a lifeguard and swim instructor, and now she proudly keeps a built-in library at home to house her ever-growing book collection. While she doesn’t currently have pets of her own, she helps her sister and niece care for their spirited pup, Tasmanian L. Whiskey—an energetic two-year-old who keeps the whole family on their toes.
At Fullwood Animal Hospital, Dominique is a steady, compassionate presence who brings heart, dedication, and joy to every animal she cares for.

Elisa
Animal Care Attendant
rom a young age, Elisa knew her future would involve caring for animals, but it was the deeper purpose behind that care that shaped her path. Her journey into veterinary medicine began long before any formal training, while caring for her family and friends’ pets. As she grew older, she developed a deep appreciation for veterinary professionals who gave a voice to sick or injured animals. In high school, she completed a veterinary assistant class and later participated in Future Farmers of America (FFA), competing in veterinary competitions for three years in a row. These experiences strengthened her technical foundation and reinforced her career path.
Elisa joined Fullwood Animal Hospital as an Animal Care Attendant while studying to become a registered veterinary technician. She sought a role that would allow her to gain hands-on experience and grow within the veterinary field and was drawn to the practice for its emphasis on learning, teamwork, and genuine patient care. Her goal is to continue building her skills and eventually advance into a technician role, using both her knowledge and empathy to support patients and clients alike.
Elisa finds the most joy in working closely with animals and witnessing the trust they place in those caring for them. She values the rewarding nature of the work and the meaningful impact that consistency, patience, and compassion can have on an animal’s well-being.
Born in Mexico and raised in Charlotte, Elisa brings creativity and warmth into every part of her life. Outside of work, she enjoys crocheting and is proud to have sold handmade pieces at a local boutique. At home, she shares her life with two cats, Gus Gus and Howl, best friends known for chasing each other through the house. One of her favorite family moments is watching her mother, once afraid of cats, lovingly refer to Gus Gus as her grand cat.
