Fullwood Animal Hospital recognizes the importance of providing opportunities for personal and professional growth for students. To this end, we offer several unpaid positions that can help individuals achieve their goals. Please note that for any of the listed positions, students must be at least 16 years of age.
Volunteering at Fullwood Animal Hospital involves dedicating hours of service for civic, charitable, or humanitarian reasons without any expectation of compensation. Volunteering can be a rewarding experience, allowing individuals to contribute to their community while learning valuable skills.
Internships, on the other hand, are different from volunteer work as they offer a work experience related to the intern’s major field of study. Internships are unpaid and are typically eight weeks long. Colleges often provide students with opportunities for internships, which can be listed on resumes.
Externships are short-term professional learning experiences where externs shadow professionals to learn more about the field. Unlike internships, externs do not complete job tasks and do not typically receive payment. Externships can last a single day to several weeks, and colleges often connect students with externship opportunities.
